Modernism Typography has change in design and communication form prior to the 19 th century approach as it was very decorative and filled with images and illustrations before that. Designers of the modern era follow strict rules like using specific typeface and grid rules to design their artwork or advertisements to make it look simple and clean. They constricted themselves into using the grid system , as it was sacred to them.  Grid system was invented by  Josef Müller-Brockmann and was known since the 1950s. Brockmann's secret to simple and good looking designs is using the grid system. Therefore, he published a book on grid system to help other designers have a touch of  good design layout.It is used to give a guide to designers to organise their layout. Before this, typography was handwritten and it took ages just to design one and it is quite impossible to mass produce it.
