From my research this past few weeks, I decided to concentrate solely on trans-media storytelling and plan to concentrate on one franchise that uses it which is  Pokémon as I believe it has greatly succeeded by using this technique. According to Henry Jenkins, fan fiction can be seen as an unauthorised expansion of these media franchises into new directions which reflect the reader's desire to "fill in the gaps" they have discovered in the commercially produced material. The trading card has the same intention as the video game, which is to battle with one and another's Pokémon. The main purpose of the cards is to enable fans to experience a similar situation of battling Pokémon in reality by having a physical copy of Pokémon(cards) instead of being digitalised.
